3d Artist Intern

Talespin is looking for a motivated 3d artistintern to join our energetic, fast-paced team to help us design the most amazing games and innovative immersive business solutions. At Talespin we put our decades of game design experience to work, not only to create innovative and memorable games and entertainment products, but also to transform the future of work by utilizing immersive technologies to create best-in-class enterprise products. As a 3d artist intern you will report to our art director or project lead. You will be guided in creating a great variety of challenging 3d models. You will be embedded in our Art Team at our Utrecht office and work alongside other employees on various projects. Does creating great games, designing for immersive (VR, AR and MR), and bridging the gap between entertainment and enterprise excite you? Join us in our adventure! 

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Create 3d assets following reference and/or concept designs following input from a project lead
  • Collaborate with other 3d artists, designers and animators to deliver your assets in the best way possible
  • Create 3d sculpts in Zbrush and retopologize these for ingame use
  • Create textures using texture baking techniques following the PBR workflow
  • Implement your assets into Unity, ensuring they are correctly set up
  • Help build a great variety of environments and complex characters in a collaborative effort

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of 3d modeling in Maya, 3dsMax or similar
  • Experience with 3d sculpting in Zbrush
  • Understanding of efficient use of UV and textures
  • Experience creating convincing texture maps in photoshop and/or Substance Painter
  • Understands the basic principles of baking texture maps
  • Able to create clean efficient geometry optimized for realtime game engines
  • Good eye for form, shape and translating these to convincing 3d models
  • A working knowledge of Unity 3D.
  • An enthusiastic teamplayer with motivation and good communication skills is expected
  • A portfolio demonstrating multiple student and personal projects with a focus on 3d modeling
  • Experience working in a collaborative team
  • Interest in both entertainment and enterprise projects
  • Meets education requirements
  • No school assignment that has specific requirements for the projects the student will work on


Plus:

  • Experience creating shaders
  • Experience working in procedural non-destructive methods and software
  • Experience rigging and skinning
  • Knowledge designing for immersive platforms (VR, AR, MR)
