Experience Designer, Learning

We're looking for an exceptional Experience Designer with a strong interest in immersive technology and virtual reality to join our team in Los Angeles. This is a key role and lead contributor in the design of immersive training solutions for enterprise clients including the assessment of learning needs, defining learning goals and instructional strategy, user experience design, and game design. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker and continual learner who believes a spirit of play is crucial to a great learning experience, versed in design thinking from the perspective of the learner, with professional project experience working with subject matter experts and enterprise clients. 

In this role you will:

  • Create user-centered designs that incorporate business requirements, research findings and user behavior metrics for VR, AR, and MR
  • Document conceptual wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, user flows, and interaction specifications
  • Prototype and develop immersive experiments and user tests
  • Collaborate throughout the solution and product development life-cycle to iterate on and deliver a high quality user experience
  • Work with Product and Engineering teams to maintain a high UX bar
  • Work with Analytics to determine the criteria used to assess learner performance and collect data on learner behavior to identify areas of opportunity

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in game design or UX design with a strong portfolio of designs for games or experiences, ideally with a serious or educational purpose
  • Design thinker and agile evangelist
  • Proficiency in Unity
  • Proficiency in UX design tools for wireframing, mockups, rapid prototyping (E.g Adobe XD Omnigraffle, Balsamiq, or similar)
  • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to engage and partner with customers
  • User testing and research
  • Exceptional communication skills with high attention to detail

One or more of these is a plus:

  • Strong interest in VR
  • Experience in project-based learning
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Game Design, Education or related field
  • Proficiency with project communication tools such as Jira, Confluence, Slack
  • Visual design skills
  • Background in education
  • Enterprise training instructional design
