Summary

Seeking to reinforce their brand identity as being at the forefront of innovation, Cox Communications and Genesco Sports Enterprises asked Talespin to create a series of installation-based immersive experiences to be deployed at professional and collegiate sporting events nationwide. Talespin set out to design and develop VR mini-games for football, basketball, and baseball the were memorable, accessible even for first-time VR users, and could be played in under 2 minutes to ensure throughput at the live events.

Impact

Knowing that emotional state upon completing a game would be directly tied to a customer's experience of the Cox brand, Talespin designed games that exaggerated players’ sports abilities and created a feeling of strength, success, and positive feedback. Even first-time VR users could slam dunk, hit a grand slam home run, or throw a touchdown pass. The games were even more tailored to first-time players through careful attention to creating simple and intuitive controls that could often be understood by users without explanation or tutorial.
