Talespin Announces Launch of the Talespin AI Lab, Drives Platform and Customer Innovation With Generative AI

Los Angeles, CA - July 13th, 2023 - Talespin, a spatial computing company focused on workforce skills development, today announced the launch of the Talespin AI Lab. 

A new division within the company, the Talespin AI Lab will focus on artificial intelligence (AI) innovation in two ways:

1. Platform innovation: Continuing to integrate AI technology into Talespin’s platform to deliver the best possible learning experiences for its customers and their employees.
2. Generative AI services: Offering Talespin partners and customers generative AI consulting services through which the company shares its proprietary intellectual property (IP) and processes for creating immersive learning content faster and with higher quality. These services include facilitating workshops during which Talespin walks clients through processes and lessons learned through research and partnership with the world's leading learning companies.

Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence that can generate content, such as text, images, or videos, based on input from humans. This technology has been used in a variety of applications, including everything from generating chatbot responses to creating art.

Talespin has long had AI technology in its DNA: in 2019 the company rolled out its proprietary, AI-powered virtual human technology designed to teach human skills using conversational simulations. This technology replicates real-life experiences in a virtual environment, and is proven to deliver emotionally realistic training experiences and high levels of employee engagement.

The Talespin AI Lab will further this vital work of innovating Talespin’s platform by incorporating generative AI into different aspects of immersive learning, from creating contextual narratives for learning simulations to generating visual assets in real time like virtual human characters and environments.

The Talespin AI Lab team is led by leaders from the Engineering, Innovation, Learning Services, and Product departments within Talespin and draws in more than 30 employees from across the organization to further the implementation, use cases, and capabilities of generative AI in the immersive learning space.

Talespin has worked closely with its partners to define how generative AI can be integrated at scale while prioritizing enterprise readiness and a trust-first framework. Talespin has already hosted several of its clients for generative AI Lab workshops to implement Talespin research and IP into real world practical applications.

This early work has delivered 50%+ improvements in the time it takes to create immersive simulations. Talespin expects this trend to continue and reduce learning content creation time further as its AI product roadmap is realized throughout 2023.
